What is RoboCow Patty Bingo?
What is RoboCow Patty Bingo?
Traditional cow patty bingo consists of a large field laid out in a numbered grid, and a well fed cow. The squares in the grid are "sold" and each person who enters gets one or more of the squares. The cow is then set loose in the field and wanders around and eventually poops (i.e. drops a cow patty). Whoever bought the square that the cow patty lands in wins a prize.
The Hollis Rotary ran a cow patty bingo at Hollis Old Home Days for many years. However they stopped a few years ago, and HBRB has resumed the tradition with a twist. Instead of a real cow, we will be using a robot cow, hence RoboCow Patty Bingo.
We will run the RoboCow several times during the day for smaller prizes and then the grand prize run will occur at 4:00 PM. The grand prize will be up to $1,000 (see rules below).

Squares will be randomly assigned when purchased
If/when all of the squares are purchased no more will be sold
For each run, the RoboCow will be driven around the field and a representation of a cow patty will be dropped at a random time. The driver will not know when the patty will drop. It is possible that the RoboCow will drive itself.
There will be several runs for smaller prizes to be announced. The grand prize run will be done at 4:00PM.
The winning square will be the square that the patty lands in. If the patty lands on a line the winner will be the square that the majority of the patty is in. If the patty lands in a non-purchased square then the nearest purchased square wins. Determination of the winner will be made by an HBRB representative.
For the smaller prize runs the prizes will be announced before the run. They may be announced earlier depending on prize availability.
Winners of small prizes are still eligible to win the grand prize.
The grand prize will be 25% of the gross receipts from the sale of squares up to a maximum of $1000.
Winners do NOT have to be present to win. HBRB will contact the winners after the event using the contact information collected when the squares were purchased and will arrange prize delivery. All monetary prizes will be paid by check.
Note that prizes over $600 have to be reported by HBRB on a 1099-MISC form.
Winners are not required to take the prizes and all or some of the grand prize money can be donated back to HBRB
By entering you agree that if you win your name may be used in publicity specific to the RoboCow Patty Bingo.
All remaining proceeds will be used by HBRB to support robotics programs in the Hollis-Brookline community
Robots and rain do not mix. In the event of rain, HBRB may decide to replace the Cow Patty Bingo with a random drawing.
